Stockholm Eyewear
2014, 3d print, door peepholes
Stockholm Eyewear is a work of art that serves as a representation of our perception of reality, which is filtered and shaped by the impact of technology. Its purpose is not to enhance our vision, experience, or creativity, but rather to entice customers into subscribing to regular purchases and engaging with customized content that caters to their individual preferences. Although marketed as a tool to improve our daily lives, its true intention is to boost the profits of powerful monopolies. While advertised as a portal to boundless opportunities, it ultimately fosters a dependence on its platform and ecosystem, creating a lifestyle to which we are compelled to adhere. The use of 3D printing and pre-existing door peepholes were employed to create this artistic work.
Stockholm syndrome, psychological response wherein a captive begins to identify closely with his or her captors, as well as with their agenda and demands.
